On the 6th of February 2025, the Youth Emancipation & Rehabilitation Foundation (YERFng), in partnership with the Abuja Network of New NGOs (A3NGOs) and other stakeholders, successfully executed a community impact project at the Waru IDP Camp, Apo Mechanic Village, Abuja.
This initiative tagged NGOs Joint Project 2025, was designed to promote literacy, health awareness, and empowerment for displaced and vulnerable communities. The focus of this phase was the Literacy Project, where textbooks were generously donated to school children in both primary and secondary schools within the camp.
The project not only addressed the urgent educational needs of refugee children but also created opportunities for improved access to learning resources, giving hope and encouragement to the younger generation striving for a brighter future despite displacement challenges.
Representing the Youth Emancipation & Rehabilitation Foundation was our Head of Communication and Partnership Officer Amb. Etim Onen, who actively engaged with stakeholders, children, and community members to ensure the successful delivery of the project. His participation reinforced our foundation’s commitment to education, empowerment, and advocacy for marginalized groups.
