A youth empowerment & sensitization program on substance abuse funded by Umuahia North Local Government and implemented by youth emancipation and rehabilitation foundation held on the 25th of July to create awareness of the dangers of substance abuse which has become a menace in the society today.
Stating the health risks of people who abuse alcohol, cigarettes, and illicit drug use. Highlighting the harmful effects such addictions have on the individual and invariably, the family and society at large.
The executive director of Heart that Cares for Better Health Organization, Comrade Maduako Uche Franklin gave a keynote speech and charged the youths of Umuahia North LGA to desist from substance abuse.
The management team of YERF comprising of the project manager and the IT specialist we’re on ground to ensure the success of the event.
In attendance at the meeting was the mayor of Umuahia North LGA, SSA to the Governor on Ease of doing business, traditional rulers and chieftains as well as other government appointees.
The youths were enrolled in different skill acquisition programs to enable them be responsible and upstanding citizens who would contribute meaningfully to the development of the society.
