OVERVIEW OF THE WORKSHOP
1). YERF and other attendees at the workshop developed an organisational inclusive and accommodating public policy for an inclusive workplace.
2). Several disabilities were identified and ways to aid PWDs were listed including building a conducive society. It was made known that no one is above disability and we live with one disability or the other without our knowledge.
Moral or religious model is said to be the oldest model of disability whereby people tend to believe the fate (disability) was a punishment from God.
3). PWDs have equal rights as people without disabilities and should be given opportunities to work, socialize, they should also be given the room to work freely without pity in order to explore and showcase their qualities.
4). public and private sectors should always have them in mind when erecting any structure for ease of accessibility accompanied by aids to help them locate their destination, such aids can be hearing aid, signs or symbol which promote direction, attached audio voice over on lifts etc.
YERF is proudly PWD friendly as we believe in ability in disability
